In June 2017, Michael Burke, Reno litigation lawyer, was appointed by Governor Brian Sandoval to serve as a commissioner on Nevada’s Commission for Common-Interest Communities and Condominium Hotels. The Commission is a seven-member body, appointed by the governor that acts in an advisory capacity to Nevada’s Real Estate Division, adopts regulations, and conducts disciplinary hearings concerning Home Owners Associations and Community Managers. Mr. Burke was appointed to act as the attorney representative of on the Commission; however, within two months of his appointment, Mr. Burke was elected to act as the Chairman of the Commission. Mr. Burke will commence his role as Chairman of the Commission during the forthcoming fall commission hearings, which are currently set to be held in November in Las Vegas.
