Michael A. Burke

Attorney At Law

Michael is a shareholder in the firm and enjoys representing all types of clients, from individuals to large publicly traded corporations. Michael joined the firm in 2009 after relocating to Reno from Los Angeles, California. Since joining the firm, Michael has engaged in a broad range of complex business litigation matters and enjoys assisting businesses to grow from inception to dissolution and everything in between.

Through his years of practice, Michael has learned that being a successful and respected attorney requires much more than simply arguing legal points; it requires a high level of trust and understanding of the client’s worries, needs, and objectives. By and through his diligent understanding of the client’s objectives, Michael has been able to provide an extremely high level of success on his client’s cases. The successes have resulted in lifelong clients who return to seek legal help on a variety of legal matters. As a result, the scope of Michael’s practice has broadened, and he frequently handles a variety of employment cases; personal injury matters; real estate transactions; and, construction matters.

More recently, Michael’s practice has transitioned to also include representation of the families of Special Education Students with regards to claims involving violations of the student’s civil rights arising from physical and mental abuse and/or illegal aversive interventions imposed upon the children by employees of the school districts.

Michael’s accomplishments in the practice of law have also translated into numerous awards and recognitions. Michael has achieved an “AV Preeminent” rating from Martindale Hubbell (the highest legal and ethical rating a lawyer can obtain) every single year since 2013. Michael has also consistently been ranked among Nevada’s “Legal Elite” by Nevada Business Magazine since 2014.

In addition to his legal practice, Michael was also appointed by Nevada’s then-Governor, Brian Sandoval, to be a commissioner on Nevada’s Commission for Common Interest Communities and Condominium Hotels, a Commission which oversees all the homeowners’ associations in the State of Nevada. Within a matter of a few months being on the Commission, Michael was elected to be the Chairman, a position which he currently maintains.

When Michael isn’t working, he enjoys traveling, skiing, exercising, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
